Well at Work

We're here for you!

UMD faculty and staff are invaluable to carrying out the mission of our university. The Division of Student Affairs Wellbeing Unit work together to help you live well and be your best in and out of work.

Wellness at Work matters. Taking an intentional approach to healthful and active living can increase your energy and engagement, boost your mood, sharpen your focus, reduce your stress, and improve your sleep- all helping you feel, think, and perform at your best.

Wellness

Supporting Active Terps as they live well and thrive

Wellness is an active and personal process of caring for ourselves and others, influences by our diverse cultures, identities, and life experiences. Inclusion, diversity, equity, and access are required to support our basic needs, and to build a life that feels aligned and authentic to who we are and who we strive to be.

Safety and Wellness

Learn and thrive with RecWell

At RecWell, we are committed to your safety and well-being. We are also committed to providing education in order to promote the safety and well-being of the greater campus community. In addition to educational safety courses, RecWell Athletic Trainers are available to support students.

Adventure Programs for Veterans

Get Outside with Fellow Veterans

Take a break from academics and paddle, bike, climb, or ski while building social connections with fellow veterans. These collaborative programs between the RecWell Adventure Program, UMD Veteran Student Life, and Team River Runner can introduce you to a new outdoor activity, provide you with a physical challenge, or help you and your family get outside and enjoy the outdoors.

Adventure Orientation Programs

Terrapin Expeditions for New & Transfer Students (T.E.N.T.S.)

Jump start your college experience with a T.E.N.T.S. program!

Adventure orientation programs are a great way to meet other incoming Terps and build relationships before the semester even begins. Trained trip leaders will teach you outdoor skills and facilitate activities and dialogue focused on your transition to college. Each trip will focus on promoting personal growth, self-confidence, and relationship-building through an adventure setting.

The Outdoor Aquatic Center, located on the west end of Eppley Recreation Center, is a vibrant and fun space for aquatic activities under the sun. From lap swimming to sand volleyball, or simply relaxing on the pool deck the OAC is a great place to be active during warm months.
