Severn Building Fitness Center

Located in the Severn Building (Room 1309). The Fitness Center is available for use by RecWell members and Limited Access members. The Fitness Center offers a variety of selectorized weight equipment, a full line of cardio equipment, free weights, a Smith Machine, foam rollers, and a cable-based multifunction piece.

A RecWell Membership or Limited Access Membership is required to access the Severn Fitness Center. To enroll in a Limited Access Membership please visit the Severn Fitness Center or stop by the ERC Member Services Desk to fill out a registration form.

University Recreation & Wellness reserves the right to prohibit behavior which, in the professional judgment of RecWell staff, may place either patrons or RecWell facilities at risk. All RecWell members are responsible for behaving in a safe and appropriate manner and complying with posted and published rules and regulations for facility use.

Exterior doors to the Severn building lock at 4:30pm; if you are a RecWell member or Limited Access member who wishes to use the facility after 4:30pm please email Tami Lee at tamilee@umd.edu.

This facility is not available for rent.

Parking on campus is regulated by UMD’s Department of Transportation Services. Regulations vary based on time of year, time of day, type of parking permit, and special events/construction projects. We recommend viewing DOTS’ parking maps for current accommodations and restrictions.

Please note: the Severn Fitness center was developed for those working in the Severn Building. There is very limited parking for those without an assigned permit.
