Personal Training

Fitness is a journey, not a destination.

Personal Training at RecWell offers the opportunity to meet 1-on-1 or in a team with a nationally certified personal trainer and (with PT+) a nutrition coach pursuing a Dietetics degree. Work with our team to refine or define your fitness goals, be held accountable, stay motivated, and learn how to exercise safely and effectively with purpose.  Personal training is open to all levels of physical ability and fitness experience.

Personal Training services offer individual and partner training with nationally certified trainers. Clients work with trainers to set goals, form lifelong habits, learn proper exercise form, and to build an effective workout that is tailored to your needs.

Note: Team training package prices are for total fees, not per person. All personal training packages expire 4 months after the date of purchase.

PT+ Packages

Personal Training Plus (PT+) is a team approach pairing personal trainers and University Health Center nutrition coaches working with you to accomplish your exercise and healthy eating goals. The PT+ program allows clients to work with trainers AND nutrition coaches to learn how to develop dietary habits that fit into your lifestyle and support your exercise goals. Note: PT+ is not offered after 04/01/18 until the fall semseter.

Who can use personal training (PT) services? Toggle Accordion

UMD students, RecWell members and UMD Limited Access Members may purchase PT and PT+ sessions. Note: PT+ packages are only sold September through April each year.

Team training (2 clients with1 trainer) is helpful in creating a social support system to help you stay on track and accountable. Exercising with a partner offers accountability, encouragement and fun.

What is PT+? Toggle Accordion

Exercise is just one part of the physical wellness equation. PT+ is a team approach that puts you together with a personal trainer and nutrition coach to help you set goals and develop a comprehensive, long-term plan for nutrition and exercise.

PT+ is only available during the fall and spring semesters. 

What can I expect from my personal trainer or nutrition coach? Toggle Accordion

RecWell Personal Trainers (undergraduate and graduate students) are NCAA-accredited nationally certified trainers who are passionate about helping you achieve your fitness goals.You can expect your trainer to help you define your fitness goals, construct an exercise program to help you achieve them, and help motivate you to stick to your program. 

University Health Center Nutrition Coaches (undergraduate students) are senior dietetic students supervised by the campus Registered Dietitian.  Coaches will work with you to asses your eating patterns, set realistic goals, and help you develop a pattern of eating that will support your goals today and in the future.

Submit the registration form below.  Then register (and pay) in person at RecWell Member Services in the ERC.

Once you register, you will be assigned a trainer, who will contact you within 2-5 business days.

All PT package fees are due at the time of purchase online or in person. Cash, check or credit card are accepted. Payroll deduction is not an option.
