RecWell Couch to 5K/10K Program
Whether you are new to running, an avid runner or want to get more walking steps in, RecWell's Couch to 5K/10K program is for you! The program is designed to provide you with the training plans, resources and support to walk or run a virtual 5K (March 5-7) and/or 10K (April 23-25). Training starts January 25, so sign-up now to receive your welcome email, training plans and invitation to the Facebook support group.
The Couch to 5K/10K program is for everyone! You do not need experience running or experience with previous 5K/10K races. There are various training plans to chose from based on your desired intensity.
The 6-week 5K training plans and the 12-week 10K training plans provide an outline of how to appropriately train for your desired race based on how intense you wish to train. The outlines provide you with the amount of time/distance to walk or run on training days, and they also outline rest/cross-training days. Links to video workouts with RecWell certified fitness professionals will be provided for cross-training days.
Beyond the training plans, you will receive weekly emails with training tips, an invitation to join our Couch to 5K/10K Facebook community, access to hundreds of virtual fitness classes, a virtual Q&A session with our certified RecWell Personal Trainers, a virtual Q&A session with our RecWell Athletic Trainers, a private group fitness class(es) for Couch to 5K/10K members, and more!
You can complete one or both! The virtual 5K will take place 6 weeks after the start of the program and the virtual 10K will take place 12 weeks after the start of the program.
