Maryland Club Sports

A club sport is a student organization, recognized by University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell) and formed by individuals motivated by a common interest and desire to participate in a favorite sport activity. Clubs vary in focus and programming, since student members manage the operation of the club and decide on club activities.

Clubs offer opportunities for learning a new sport, improving existing sport skills, practicing and playing for fun, and/or competing at various levels. Club officers develop valuable leadership skills, through successful management of administrative affairs and intra-club dynamics.

Maryland Club Sports, a department within University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell), oversees and advises all Club Sports. Clubs must operate within the Maryland Club Sports policies and procedures which are in place to promote safety and manage risk.
