University Recreation & Wellness exists to enrich the educational experience and encourage personal growth by inspiring the university community to be active and live well.
The James H. Kehoe (Men’s Intramural Sports Director, 1947-69) and Ethel Kesler (Women’s Intramural Sports Director, 1956-81) Service and Leadership Awards are presented by University Recreation & Wellness undergraduate or graduate students who have demonstrated the highest degree of encouraging and inspiring the university community to be active and live well.
The Kehoe/Kesler Awards are the most prestigious given by University Recreation & Wellness. The award is given to the individual who encourages and inspires the university community to be active and live well. Nominees should immediately come to mind as people respected by their peers, undergraduate or graduate volunteer, participant, advocate, or employee with University Recreation & Wellness. Nominations are welcomed from students, faculty/staff, and RecWell members/participants.

Respected by peers for leadership qualities and innovation.
Demonstrated reliability and a willingness to contribute to being active and serving as a role model for healthy living.
Motivation to do things on their own initiative
Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.75
